Short Mat Bowling Club

Short mat bowls is an indoor sport in which players attempt to score points by rolling a heavy ball along a fairly flat surface, to gain as many shots as possible by getting their bowls nearer to the jack than their opponents, and so outscore them. The game is a modern variation on lawn bowls, from which the game is derived.

There are vacancies for new members, preferably with some bowling experience, but keen beginners are welcome to pop along and give it a go.

All equipment is provided with a loan of bowls to start you off. The club belongs to the Gloucestershire Summer League. It has use of a small car park near to the entrance and you are advised to reverse on to it for easier departure after play.

Secure and insured storage is available for personal equipment. Tea, coffee and biscuits are enjoyed at half - time. The session fee is £3.00 and the annual membership is £15.

Tuesday and Friday from 2 - 4.30pm at the Douglas Morley Hall
