I have lived in Gloucestershire for most of my life, having been born in mid-Wales near Hay-on-Wye. I spent my childhood in the Forest of Dean, attending Ruardean Church of England Primary School and the Royal Forest of Dean Grammar School.

My working life has been spent with the Post Office, working at various branches throughout Gloucestershire and also doing administrative work. In 1993, I bought Stonehouse Post Office and managed it for nine years. In 2002 I ceased ownership of the Post Office but have continued to work there.

My other interests include travel, both in the UK and abroad, current affairs and I am a member of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. I have played skittles (badly!) in the Stroud League for more than twenty years.
