I live in Glen Court, Stonehouse with my wife Lin and have recently retired from an engineering firm in Gloucester. I arrived in Stonehouse in 1948 following the death of my father while serving in the Royal Air Force and my mother's re-marriage. I attended Stonehouse Primary School along with my sister and elder brothers and then later Stonehouse Secondary Modern, as Maidenhill was known then. Except for a two-year stay in my birth city of Portsmouth, I have lived the best part of my life in and around Stonehouse.

Two of my children from my first marriage live in Stonehouse and three of my grandsons were educated at Maidenhill School. In the past, I was Chairman of Stroud Gingerbread group (where I met Lin), Chairman of Stonehouse Scouts Management Committee and at present I am serving on the Stroud Youth Football League Management Committee. My hobbies include gardening, DIY, genealogy, film editing and swimming.
