Town Councillors are elected to represent people living in geographical areas known as Wards. In the Parish of Stonehouse there are three Wards: North (6 Councillors), South (4 Councillors) and Central (4 Councillors).
Being a Town Councillor is a voluntary role involving helping people to solve problems and attending committee and other meetings taking decisions about Council policy. Only District and County Councillors receive an allowance for their work and expenses.
