Incinerator latest

14 January 2013 at 08:32

The proposed incinerator at Javelin Park, beside Blooms at Junction 12 of the M5 continues to be controversial.

Stonehouse Town Council hosted a public meeting organised by the Glosvain action group in December 2012. The meeting ensured that Stonehouse residents had a chance to find out more about the incinerator and its implications for the town.

Glosvain are urging people to oppose the incinerator by doing two things:

1. Writing to request a 'call in' by sending letter to the Eric Pickles, The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to ask him to take responsibility for deciding on the planning application for the incinerator out of the County Council's hand

2. Send an objection to the planning application to Gloucestershire County Council's Planning Unit

The County Council's planning committee is expected to meet in February to make a decision on the application for the incinerator so now is the time to make your views known.

More information is availabe on the Glosvain website
